Randomly stumbled upon this great little spot in Yoyogi while taking a walk. I noticed on their signboard they had mac and cheese and us cereal and others and the feeling seemed really authentic. I decided to check it out and really enjoyed it! as stated by others, its not the normal stereotype americana, but in fact has a feeling of actual joy and interest in the various 1980's and 90's American comics, cartoons, movies etc. Loved the retro American tv commercials looped on the tvs and the chili and mac and cheese and the theme gave me fond childhood memories! Ill definitely be coming back to try some of their original cocktails which are themed after a variety of 80's music etc. and the cereal!

Awesome vibe in this place, decoration and atmosphere on point! Good and original food, very colorful. You'll enjoy this place even more if you're a toy collector, feels like a museum.

Stopped in while in Tokyo, I have seen the owner on the Tokyo toy banzai’s YouTube channel. What a cool spot for collectors and non collectors alike, the attention to detail is staggering, from the cups used to serve cocktails to the coasters cut from vintage children bed sheets. The tvs playing nostalgic toy and cereal commercial adds to the vibe. The popcorn was delicious and the cocktails dangerously smooth. The staff was great with one young lady giving me dragon ball collector cards after finding out I love dragon ball. What a cool hidden gem for those who love 80s-90s nostalgia and toys. Pro tip check out the bathroom!

A perfect celebration of American nostalgia. This isn't the dull, mindless Americana worship you see in other places in Japan, the love here is real, and it's infectious. Everything in Nope is super consistent and carefully curated, from the decoration to the food. The menu is very simple but the conciseness means they got every item just right. A very clever and delicious take on basic American home cooking. Moya and Ken, the owners, are incredible as well. They're so kind and friendly, some of the best people I've met in Japan. Really really fun to talk to. Nope is a must visit for if you like unique, authentic cafes.
